Summer Design Institute in Minneapolis

Cooper-Hewitt’s Summer Design Institute, a week-long series of lectures, workshops, and discussions for K-12 teachers focused on design-based learning, is in Minneapolis this week at the Walker Art Center. Cooper-Hewitt’s exhibition Design for the Other 90% is also on view in the Walker Art Center Sculpture Garden.

Our friends at the Walker will be blogging about Summer Design Institute all week long, check it out.

  1. As I am knee deep and mind deep into creating design lessons after attending the Summer Design Institute, I find the design process totally invigorating. The challenge of it is truly rejuvenating to the soul! The lessons I read on this website are fantastic and very easy to use. This design process is applicable to all subject areas and encourages innovation, which after reading about the “Innovation Gap” in the New York Times, I think this website is one way to solve that problem!
